PHILIPPINES – Additional Documents Required for Alien Employment Permit Applications
Effective 2 April 2018, the Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE) has confirmed additional documentary requirements for Alien Employment Permit (AEP) applications.
What has changed?
Certified true copies (per page) of the following additional documents are now required in support of an application for an AEP:
- Mayor’s Permit/Business Permit;
- Certificate of Registration and Articles of Incorporation from the Securities and Exchange Commission, where applicable; and
- Updated General Information Sheet, where applicable.In addition, a new application form (“s.2018”) must be used for submitting AEP applications.

- Employers of foreign nationals in the Philippines should ensure compliance with the new documentary requirements to avoid penalties.
