BRAZIL – Delays Due to Internal Systems Upgrade
The federal Police in Brazil is currently implementing a new internal IT system (SISMIGRA) to replace the previous one (SINCRE).
As part of the change, forms, procedures and structures are being reviewed and updated, and this is likely to cause delays in appointments and consultations.
Foreign nationals who need to attend a Federal Police office in the coming weeks may experience longer than usual queues and processing times. The Federal Police in São Paulo has not yet reopened its agenda for booking new appointments on the new system.
Action Items
- Employers should plan for longer waits for appointments, longer queuing times and longer processing times until new system is fully established and the backlog processed.
