GREECE – Increased Labour Checks
The Greek Minister of Labour has announced that there will be an increased number of employment law compliance checks in the coming months throughout Greece, especially in tourist areas such as the Greek islands.
If the authorities discover any non-compliance during the checks, employers may face penalties.
Action Items
- Employers in Greece should ensure they continue to respect the working conditions (i.e., working hours, rest days) as required by Greek law and/or by any collective agreements.
- Employers who may be affected are encouraged to contact a Newland Chase immigration specialist for case-specific advice.
